...HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT THE CENTRAL COAST BEACHES THIS EVENING

THROUGH EARLY SUNDAY...



.A BUILDING NORTHWEST SWELL WILL MOVE INTO THE SOUTHWEST

CALIFORNIA COASTAL WATERS LATE THIS AFTERNOON. AT THE SAME TIME

WINDS WILL INCREASE FROM THE NORTHWEST SO THAT STEEP WIND DRIVEN

SEAS COMBINE WITH THE SWELL...PRODUCING COMBINED SEAS OF 12 TO 15

FEET IN THE COASTAL WATERS. THE SURF WILL BUILD TO 8 TO 12 FEET

TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY WITH HIGHER SETS POSSIBLE ON EXPOSED WEST TO

NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES. THE LARGE SURF WILL PERSIST THROUGH

SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING...AND WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY

DANGEROUS RIP CURRENTS.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 5 AM

PDT SUNDAY...



THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOS ANGELES/OXNARD HAS ISSUED A

HIGH SURF ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON

TO 5 AM PDT SUNDAY.



* SURF HEIGHT AND TIMING...SURF WILL BUILD TO 8 TO 10 FEET THIS

EVENING AND TO 10 TO 12 FEET WITH SETS TO 15 FEET SATURDAY. THE

LARGE SURF WILL PERSIST THROUGH LATE SATURDAY NIGHT WITH THE

MAXIMUM SIZE EXPECTED ALONG WEST TO NORTHWEST FACING BEACHES.





* IMPACTS...STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND HIGH SURF WILL MAKE OCEAN

ACTIVITIES HAZARDOUS FOR ANYONE.

A HIGH SURF ADVISORY MEANS THAT HIGH SURF WILL AFFECT BEACHES IN

THE ADVISORY AREA...PRODUCING RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH

EROSION. AVOID STANDING ON ROCKS OR JETTIES NEAR THE WATERS EDGE

AND NEVER TURN YOUR BACK ON THE OCEAN.
